Malaysian Fighters Claim Six Medals at ISKA Indonesia Open 2026

JAKARTA, June 28, 2026 — Malaysian combat sports athletes delivered a strong showing at the ISKA Indonesia Open 2026, returning from Jakarta with an impressive haul of two gold and four silver medals. 

The tournament featured competitors from across the region and included disciplines such as K-1 Rules, Low Kick, Boxing, Muay Thai and Tatami Sport categories.

Leading Malaysia’s medal charge were Yatavan A/L Baskar and Muhammad Aidil Bin Bahrin, who both secured gold medals in Kick Light. Yatavan emerged champion in the -70kg division, while Muhammad Aidil took the top spot in the -88kg category. 

Malaysia’s four silver medals came from Armand Iskandar B Zawen Anwar, Wee Pei Zhi, Ng Chee Seng and Chang Yu Xiang. 

Armand finished runner-up in the Under-13 Kick Light category, gaining valuable international experience at a young age. Wee Pei Zhi claimed silver in the -88kg Low Kick division, while Ng Chee Seng finished second in the Senior Low Kick -61kg category. Chang Yu Xiang completed the silver medal tally with a runner-up finish in the Kick Light -64kg division. 

The results underline the growing competitiveness of Malaysian fighters on the international stage, with athletes representing the country across both junior and senior divisions. With six podium finishes from six Malaysian medalists, the ISKA Indonesia Open 2026 proved to be a successful outing for the Malaysian contingent and another important step in their development ahead of future international competitions.
